Bio

Summer Olsson is a writer, performer, director, and designer. Her career has spanned touring devised theatre through Europe to playing kids shows across the PNW with a trash puppet rock band. She has worked as a second assistant director in stop motion animation, including on the Oscar-winning Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio and the Emmy-winning The Tiny Chef Show. Her writing has been published in Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, Slippery Elm Literary Journal, Art Born Words (Demagogue Press) and others. Her fiction explores topics like the loneliness of being human, ghosts both real and metaphoric, and magic realism, usually from female perspectives. She began writing for publication as a music and arts freelancer for the Weekly Alibi, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She believes that the arts create quality of life.

Summer holds a BFA in theater from the University of New Mexico, and is a graduate of Dell’ Arte International School of Physical Theatre. She also holds a BSN in Nursing from Linfield University. Summer is also a registered nurse.
